Circa 1860s. Original carte de visite photograph portrait (two women, one is seated at desk, other is standing looking over the first lady's shoulder). Card dimensions 2 1/2 x 4 inches, photo dimensions 2 x 3 1/4 inches. No photographer or publisher listed. Queen Maria Cristina de Borbon (1806-1878), also known as Maria Cristina of the Two Sicilies, was Queen Consort to Ferdinand VII of Spain, and was Queen Regent for her daughter Queen Isabella II from 1833-1840. In this picture she is standing, looking over the shoulder of one of her daughters from her second marriage to Augustin Fernando Munoz, later Duke of Riansares.
